6/3/08: The Saltmine Studios celebrates the arrival
of a Grand Piano!  This Hallet & Davis Baby Grand
is an awesome addition to our live room in Studio A.

It sounds huge yet fits nicely into the corner of
the studio with our Fender Rhodes, Triton and
Prophet 5, among other favorite synths.

Despite its small footprint, we are getting some
amazingly big piano sounds from this little gem.


5/15/08: The Saltmine Studios
announces the purchase of the
world famous Ampex ATR-102
1 inch stereo master tape recorder!

This machine is the finest mixing and
mastering tape recorder in the world and
we are very excited to add it to our aresenal.

This particular machine has a great pedigree
and has been the mixdown deck on
many hit records.

Spring 2005, Studio B is transformed into Arizona's "ultimate mix room"
with the addition of an SSL 6064 E/G+ console with Total Recall. 
This particular SSL has been
extensively refurbished and maintained by SSL
and has been used to mix records from
A Perfect Circle, Eminem,
Kid Rock and many more platinum artists. 

Pro Tools HD3 Accel with 48 outputs on Digidesign 192 I/O's, 
Custom Westlake BBSM-15 Main Monitors with Bryston Amps,

and a sweet selection of outboard gear make this an incredible mixing room!

February 2005, video shoot for new artist Kartoon, on Ruff Ryders Records.  A full house in the Oasis Courtyard!!  Look for Kartoon's video on MTV and BET sometime soon.
January/February 2005, Island/Def Jam artist DMX spent a month in the studio working on a new record with the guys from Ruff Ryders. 
Here are P Killa Trax, Don Salter and DMX in Studio A.

December 2004, Soulfly returns to The Saltmine to record their fifth record for Roadrunner Records, and their third record at The Saltmine.
September 2004, Jimmy Eat World pays a visit to 
The Saltmine to do some mixing for an upcoming release.
July 2004,  The Saltmine is proud to announce the addition of a brand new Protools HD 3 Accel system, upgrading our Pro Tools system to one of the most powerful HD systems in Arizona, powered by a dual 2 gHz Macintosh G5, three "192" interfaces and a total of 32 Analog I/O, a sync I/O for blackburst and SMPTE time code, Waves Platinum HD and much more!
May 2004, Tommy Shaw from Styx saying so long to 
John Bilberry, John Gray and Don Salter as 
he climbs on the tour bus after recording some
vocals for an upcoming release.
March 2004, The Saltmine is the studio of choice 
for multi-platinum R&B artists NEXT 
as they begin tracking their new album

February 2004, Morgan Rose of Sevendust with
